What should be provided before a return is sent?
Tell the team where the return comes from, the expected quantities, known condition and intended outcome. Confirm receiving arrangements before dispatch. If the new destination is undecided, discuss temporary storage separately.
- Return source, shipment or transport references, SKUs and carton contents.
- Known damage, missing labels, quantity differences or packing issues, with available photographs.
- Expected arrival, requested handling, new labels and redispatch destination.
How should receiving and redispatch be connected?
Organize instructions into receiving checks, handling confirmation, relabeling or repacking, and redispatch. Record and resolve quantity or condition differences before work makes them harder to trace.
- Receiving: reconcile carton counts, markings and known condition against the pre-advice.
- Handling confirmation: identify goods for relabeling, repacking or continued storage.
- Relabeling and repacking: map old and new labels, versions and packing requirements.
- Redispatch: confirm the new address, shipment details and delivery arrangements; retain handoff records.
Does relabeling guarantee acceptance or resale?
No. Product condition, information and destination requirements still have to meet the new receiving conditions. Warehouse handling cannot replace a platform or consignee review.
- Relabeling and repacking are not repairs or functional quality certification.
- Confirm pre-dispatch visual checks in China separately from U.S. return handling.
- For opened, damaged or unidentified goods, agree the next action before assuming resale is possible.
Which costs should the returns quotation cover?
Check receiving, temporary storage, condition checks, labeling, materials, repacking and redispatch separately. Changes to quantities, actual condition or handling instructions may require reconfirming affected charges.
- Clarify whether work is charged per carton, item or operation.
- Separate warehouse work from the new transport charge.
- Specify any requested photographs or quantity feedback and confirm what can be provided.
